Balibo (2009)
3/5
2010-03-07 01:17
Yet another sad story written on the pages of human history. Fifth of the East Timor population killed. Too bad that the film was not good enough to capture my full attention. I found myself reading the wikipedia more than watching the movie.

Many, many movies I've seen dealing with this subject. The story's always the same. Only the characters change. Still this one's quite unique. Very good watch.

Nobel Son (2007)
4/5
2010-02-21 01:23
Excellent premises. First half is a very enjoyable joyride. Nice twits, action keeping you on your toes. Excellent dialogues. Exquisite music! All ruined by the closing act. Totally unnecessary twists, too complicated, just poor. Overally it was a good movie that could have been great.

Polish urban low-life love story. More like an experiment in cinematography than a movie. Enjoyable mostlby because of Borys Szyc's role.

Moon (2009)
5/5
2009-11-20 00:19
Simply put: incredible. And terrifying. Really terrifying. The presented scenario is way too plausible. Just not yet. Loved the 2001 references, especially how Gerty was the exact oppsite of HAL.

Disgrace (2008)
4/5
2009-11-18 23:50
Very difficult and uncomfortable, even to the point of being unpleasant to watch. Not to mention that I was expecting a political drama, not family tragedies. As usual, some posts on imdb board were very helpful in understanding better the ending and the motives of both main character and his daughter.

Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006)
4/5
2009-10-09 22:55
Great film. A little bit one sided, without saying much about the problems associated with electric cars (like how to produce the requireed electricity and how much more does the clean energy cost or the problems with wearing of the batteries). EV1 was really pioneer. No doubt about that. Shame they killed it. Good that electric cars are now being taken more seriously.

It's 2009 and a 1996 movie still got me going. It's still one of the best movies of all times, for me. Top 5. Easily. Still made me cry. American Dream all the way. Yes, it had me at the hello.

General - zamach na Gibraltarze (2009)

Excellent topic. So controversial, so many hypothesizes as to the real reason of Sikorski's death. Piss poor quality, as is usual for Polish productions, fortunately it did not have too big of an impact on the movie.

The Informers (2009)
4.5/5
2009-08-23 23:21
Totally incoherent and chaotic. Lots of interconnected stories with AIDS in the background. It was hard to really feel any kind of emotional attachment to any of the characters, as they were all really rotten.
