After yesterday’s best read of the month here comes the best show of the day. Which is Steve Yegge, live, talking about branding during 2007 OSCON. Without any slides. 25 minutes.

He also reveals that in his opinion Javascript2 will be the Next Big Language (NBL). I was kind of suspecting this would be it. Coincidently, lately I’ve discovered (what a big word) jQuery. And let me tell you, I’ve never seen any other piece of code, which is so concise and does so many things with so much style. Prototype, dojoToolkit and all other js libraries simply look pale in comparison. I’m hooked on jQuery and use it for every new project, while trying to implement it in my old ones too.

Continuing the tradition of hosting the Crazy Frog videos, below is the WMV file of the “Popcorn video”. The quality is not so great as the original video, but it’s still good enough to be watchable. On top of that, Crazy Frog has his penis in its place, which means that it must be some uncensored European version:

As a bonus, there’s also a 23 seconds long popcorn video teaser (released a few months ago), featuring Crazy DJ Frog. Although called teaser, I did not find anything in common with those two videos. Here it goes:

There is nothing better than watching funny videos while having the usual “Christmas-time” depression. Not that I’m that down or anything, but it’s not the first time I’m not happy enough during this special time of the year. And we should all be happy! At least I hope you will be after watching those two very funny videos. First one is the “official” guide to eating Japanese sushi. Here it goes:

(download, 29 MB)

The second one is an extremely well done Bollywood movies parody:

(download, 6 MB)

They really made my day. That’s my Christmas present to you, my dear readers. Merry Christmas!

Now if there was a way to save those videos on hard disk. That would be so great!

UPDATE: When there’s a will, there’s always a way. Thanks, Dzentelman, for those two links, which let you save Google videos on your hard disk. You’ll need FLV Player as well to play them back.

Crazy Frog (aka the most annoying thing in the world) ringtone tops the British charts.

I have absolutely no idea why people find it so annoying! I don’t find it annoying at all. Quite the opposite – it’s very funny!

I’ve spent a little bit of time searching for the full video, as it was taken down from its creators website – Kaktus Film, so I decided to upload it here and share it with you.

As a bonus, you can also watch the video that started it all. I remeber watching it quite a while ago. It was damn funny at the time (and still is)!

Here are the links to all of those files:

CF_Axel_F_400x300.mov (69mb)

TheAnnoyingThing.avi (5mb)

broom.avi (1,5mb)

There’s also a trailer for the sitcom A Bear’s Tail, featuring the Crazy Frog. It’s under the very meaningful title “Fuck crazy frog”. Here’s the link:
